Hoover Dam Limousine Tour
The Hoover Dam is one of the "Seven Engineering Wonders of the United States." Approximately 1 million people each year visit the Hoover Dam to see all its wonders. Hoover Dam (sometimes called Boulder Dam) is a concrete gravity-arch dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between Arizona and Nevada. Viewing this magnificent, massive man made structure creates a respect for man's accomplishments. The strong desire to harness nature's power drove the human mind and body to build Hoover Dam in the hottest, driest area of the United States. In doing so, the seasonal flooding of the Colorado River was eliminated and millions of people now have drinking water and irrigation during the dry season. Our Limousine tour offers approximately two and a half hours of free time at the Dam and Lake Mead, allowing plenty of time to explore, check out the museum, history movie, exhibits, information center and gift shop. A power plant tour of the interior conducted by Department of Reclamation Tour Guides is recommended and may be purchased at the dam (approx $11). You'll also have plenty of photo opportunities of beautiful Lake Mead, the largest manmade lake in the United States. Entire limousine tour takes approximately five hours.
